Building Momentum: PRIMA-SAFE Dissemination Efforts Continue

Following the initial kick-off meeting in Verbania, Italy, the PRIMA-SAFE consortium convened in Kenitra, Morocco, from October 4th to 6th, 2023, to assess progress and strengthen collaboration. Hosted by Ibn Tofail University, this meeting was pivotal in advancing the project’s objectives of promoting sustainable water reuse practices to enhance safety in agriculture, food, and the environment.

The gathering featured comprehensive discussions on decentralized wastewater treatment solutions, the impact of water reuse on crop irrigation, and the promotion of environmentally friendly practices. Participants evaluated the project’s progress, shared insights, and strategized on upcoming activities to ensure the successful implementation of sustainable water reuse practices across the Mediterranean region.

In conjunction with the consortium meeting, an International Workshop titled “Agriculture and Water Scarcity in the Context of Climate Change: Future Prospects” was held on October 6th, 2023, at Ibn Tofail University. This workshop aimed to address the challenges posed by water scarcity in agriculture, especially under changing climate conditions, and to explore sustainable strategies for water management.

The PRIMA-SAFE consortium’s commitment to addressing water scarcity and promoting sustainable agricultural practices was further demonstrated during a subsequent meeting in Thessaloniki, Greece, where members continued to collaborate on innovative solutions tailored to the Mediterranean region’s unique challenges.
